Pat Baillie, Associate Director of Training & Professional Development, Out & Equal. Pat has a Masters degree in Physical Education, Biology and Psychology from California State University, Northridge. Her strong belief and participation in LGBT causes has been with her entire career. It is no wonder then, that, she retired from with the rank of Major and position of Weapon's Controller and Space Operations officer in 1993, the very day US President Bill Clinton announced the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy. She came out publicly and was a featured speaker at the Veteran's day memorial in Sacramento, CA in 1993.
Settling in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Pat worked within Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies on their diversity council and presented on LGBT issues at statewide EEOC conferences. She invested over 10 years as co-president of Albuquerque Pride and in the organization of the LGBT community on a statewide level.
In January 2008, she found a place to combine her long term experience in education and grass roots activism and took a position with Out & Equal in California. She lives in Oakland with her partner and travels extensively teaching, presenting and discussing the issues impacting LGBT equality in and out of the workplace.
